About Me

Alicia C. Rodriguez is a clinical psychologist, licensed in the State of Hawai’i. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology from the Los Angeles campus of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to my career as a psychologist, I worked in the corporate risk management sector. Although I enjoyed the challenges of helping corporate clients manage their financial risks, I recognized a deeper desire to interact with people on a different level.

I have worked in a variety of clinical settings and populations such as urban and rural community mental health clinics, integrated health clinics, and in law enforcement agencies. I have worked with clients, ages 3-75 years of age treating behavioral issues, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment disorders. While in Los Angeles, I also worked with gang-involved individuals and within communities impacted by gang violence.

My heart bleeds BLUE and my area of professional passion is in working with law enforcement personnel in Hawai’i. I have worked within law enforcement agencies and as a contractor in different capacities and enjoy the opportunity to see beyond the badge and support the work that officers do every day in Hawai’i nei.

I recognize the unique stressors and professional dynamics that all first responders face, whether you’re a fire fighter, paramedic, or dispatcher. I also believe that first responder professionals include the civilian personnel in these agencies. . .dispatchers, crime scene technicians, evidence clerks, secretaries– the list goes on and on. The reality is that working in a first responder agency is an experience all its own and brings unique experience and stress to you.

Last, but not least. . .the often unsung heroes of emergency response are the ‘ohanas that share their loved ones with the community. The stress and impact of the front lines goes home and vice versa– the stress of the family comes to work. I believe that it is important to support the families of our first responders and help them thrive in their unique role in our community.

I welcome all clients and believe there is a “sameness” to our “uniqueness.” No matter the titles we wear, the positions we hold, or the group we align with I believe we’re all equal and deserve a space to let the walls down, the authenticity to run free, and the Waves of Insight to take us to new levels of peace.
